This very unique tea has a mild nutty roasted and slightly creamy flavor. Its caffeine content is approximately 1/10th of other green teas. Twig Tea is high in L-Theanine. It is also a good source of calcium, zinc, selenium, copper, iron, manganese and fluoride and is rich in B-complex Vitamins and Vitamins C & A.
Kukicha is unique in that its primary impact lies in its alkalizing abilities. It helps to alkalize our body’s fluids and tissues. Thus, it may balance acidity levels and may help in preventing disease. It may also help to maintain proper functioning of kidneys and liver. Kukicha has the strongest alkalizing ability of any Japanese tea.
In Japan, fruity juices are often added to Twig Tea to make a children’s tea. The most suggested juice is apple at a 50-50 mix.
