Genmaicha, a specialty Japanese style green tea, is a very unique tea. It has an aroma of toasted popcorn and tastes like lightly buttered popcorn. The tea has a natural sweetness, and some of the fire-toasted rice pops during the firing process. Thus, its nickname of Popcorn Tea. So popcorn lovers beware. You can even eat the popped rice after steeping. It tastes very much like popcorn. As a popcorn lover, myself, I do!
Enjoy a fantastic cup of Genmaicha!
